Fermented in open tank fermenters and then then aged for 21-month in 80% new French Oak barrels (20% once-used French oak).   Aromatics: Smells of pretty boysenberry, dark fruit, and earth.

Aromatics: Lovely dark Bing cherry, boysenberry, and leather

Palate: Starts with cherry compote and blackberry, followed by subtle integrated oak and bright acid, and finishes with firm, but integrated tannins.  A lovely wine. Along with our Petite Verdot and Estate Merlot, one of our favorites of the vintage.

Color: Dark red with violet hues on the rim

Food Pairings: Venison with cherry sauce, wild mushroom pappardelle, and/or wild game sausages.

When to drink: Wonderful now if decanted for an hour. Should improve through 2026 and hold in your cellar for 8 to 10 years.
